Polícia Civil deflagra operação “combo criminoso” para combater fraudes cibernéticas em Boa Vista

On June 17, 2025, the Civil Police of the State of Roraima (PCRR) launched the Criminal Combo Operation, aimed at combating electronic frauds that caused financial losses to local businesses. The joint action, coordinated by the Narcotics Department (DENARC), was a response to an investigation conducted by the Cyber Crimes Repression Delegation (DERCC) and had operational support from the Narcotics Repression Delegation (DRE).

During the operation, two search and seizure warrants issued by the Judiciary were executed.

According to information provided by DERCC’s chief delegate, Eduardo Alves Patrício, the investigation identified suspect P. H. B. V., aged 24. The suspect allegedly used third-party credit card data to make over 30 fraudulent purchases across various commercial establishments in the capital.

“The transactions were made through digital platforms, and the purchases ranged from concert tickets to high-value wines,” explained the delegate.

Furthermore, Eduardo Patrício stated that when the legitimate cardholders noticed the unauthorized charges, they contacted payment platforms to request refunds.

“This forced intermediaries to cover the amounts, causing significant losses to the companies,” he said.

The delegate requested search and seizure warrants for three properties linked to the suspect in the neighborhoods of São Pedro, Jardim Floresta, and Jóquei Clube.

According to Eduardo Patrício, the operation was supported operationally by DENARC and DRE, reinforcing the integrated effort of PCRR in combating cybercrimes.

NAME OF THE OPERATION – The operation, named Combo Criminoso, refers to the variety of fraudulent purchases made by the suspect.

“It was a true combination of frauds, with diverse and sophisticated expenses, which made tracking difficult and increased financial damages,” he affirmed.
